On Friday, November 14, 2014, Miriam Boudreaux spoke at the ASQ Houston Regional Quality Conference on the topic of Risk Assessment. Houston Mayor Annise Parker delivered a strong opening keynote, sharing great news on the growth of Houston’s economy and productivity, and its positive impact on the national outlook. Houston business leaders from all industries were in attendance, particularly from the Energy sector.
For Miriam, speaking to ASQ members was an opportunity to contribute value. She says, “It was exciting to share my knowledge once again with my fellow ASQ members. I have been part of the ASQ community since the late 90s, and it has been a great source of inspiration. Listening to Mayor Parker’s opening keynote was a treat, as she addressed the hard work made by small businesses. Mayor Parker called any small business with over 10 years tenure a success story, so I was proud of what we have accomplished at Mireaux.”
Miriam’s Risk Assessment presentation was delivered to a large audience of over 100 people. Miriam continues, “Judging by the eager and immediate feedback from the attendees, it was clear to me that they understood that risk assessment does not have to be rocket science. They quickly grasped that there is a simple approach to assessing not just environmental and safety risks, but also quality and information security risks.”
