Mireaux is proud to announce that its Client Air Drilling Associates (ADA) has officially achieved API Spec Q2 certification. ADA joins a select number of companies worldwide (the 42nd applicant to be exact) that have achieved this great certification.
Miriam Boudreaux, CEO of Mireaux, commented on this great achievement:
“We are excited about the work done by both ADA and our team. We enjoy working on these types of projects, where our Clients are seeking to significantly improve their processes and not just apply window dressing for the Auditors. We find our work thorough and satisfying knowing that ADA has the right infrastructure to promote improvement and to sustain their own management system for years to come.”
Since we began our relationship with Air Drilling Associates, we knew ADA was a forward-thinking company. In 2013, when the API Q2 committee had just completed its Beta stage and was officially released as a specification, ADA set its eyes on this rigorous certification. At that time the Oil and Gas industry was still riding high and everyone was busy, with little time available to “pause and implement a QMS”. However, ADA saw the new API Spec Q2 as a great opportunity to rise above its competitors and create the foundation only great companies aspire to have.
With the help of Mireaux, ADA began working on this great endeavor, questioning every one of their processes and looking for improvements – all while ensuring that the strict API Spec Q2 requirements were fully adhered to. Together, Mireaux and Air Drilling Associates exercised both precision and determination in order to ensure that ADA’s new world-class Quality Management System became second nature for all ADA employees. It’s also worth mentioning that Mireaux’s Web QMS software played a big role in ensuring that all documentation, including work instructions, maintenance records, training, etc. were at every employee’s fingertips, regardless of whether they were in the office, the shop yard, or at a drilling site.
By 2014, API gave the green light and companies could finally apply for API Q2 in order to achieve the certification. ADA was ready and submitted its application. As there were not many API Auditors trained to audit this standard, time passed and ADA faithfully waited for its turn to be audited while continuing to polish its management system and cement a culture of Continual Improvement.
Finally, after having undergone the Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits, the tremendous effort was rewarded with API granting ADA the API Spec Q2 certification. Mireaux is proud to have another wonderful Client reach their goal.
