Mireaux is proud to announce that we were honored once again as one of the University Of Houston’s Cougar 100 award recipients, given to the fastest-growing Cougar-owned companies in the world.
The awards ceremony was held at a luncheon on November 6, 2017 at the Bayou City Event Center where the announcement of the companies’ rankings was revealed. The Cougar 100 Awards recognize the fastest growing Cougar-Led Businesses around the world (led by University of Houston’s Alumni). The luncheon featured special guest speaker Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale.
With over 650 companies in contention, Mireaux was able to achieve a ranking among the top 100 once again for 2017, after having been a recipient in 2014, and 2016. Miriam Boudreaux, Mireaux’s Founder and CEO, personally received the award as well other gifts, including a trophy and commemorative pen set.
Miriam commented, “Being recognized as one of the fastest growing Cougar 100 companies this year was very special, because it means we are still here and have survived the downturn that started in late 2015. 2016 was a very hard year for us, and those numbers were accounted for in the final score for the 2017 award. We actually used the downturn to re-position ourselves, looking for improvements and cost efficiencies that could place us well against our competition. We believe we not only survived, but also came out stronger, and this award speaks truth to that. We enjoyed hearing from Mattress Mack, a true legend in Houston, which gives us a perspective of what our business can do in the community.”
Miriam Boudreaux graduated from the University of Houston with a Master’s of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering.
