In early April, Mireaux Management Solutions celebrated the Birthday of its CEO, Miriam Boudreaux. For the occasion we gathered around the table to eat a “Raclette”. It was a good occasion to learn more about our French intern, who just arrived 2 weeks prior, and to celebrate Miriam’s birthday in French style.
As we enjoyed the meal, Maureen shared some tips on how to best prepare and enjoy raclette with her American colleagues. Our French intern, Maureen, was thrilled to see raclette on the menu. It was a reminder of home and a chance to share her culture with her colleagues. When the proverbial bell rang, we wasted no time to gather around the raclette grill, Maureen explained the various types of cheese used in a classic raclette dish and how to prepare it. We were impressed with Maureen’s knowledge and enthusiasm for the dish. We were curious to learn more about the French way of work, life and culture. Of course, we got confirmation about the 35 hours week, late starts, long lunches and other hard to believe perks that our CEO will not approve (haha). |

Raclette is a traditional Swiss and French dish that typically involves heating a semi-hard cheese and scraping it onto potatoes, vegetables, and cured meats. | |
How to best finish a birthday meal?
With a Birthday’s Cake of course! |

After lunch, it was time for the highlight of the lunch– the birthday cake ! The cake was beautifully decorated and our CEO was visibly touched by the effort that our team had put into the plans. As we sang the traditional birthday song, our CEO made a wish and blew out the candles. Following the cake-cutting and eating, our team presented our CEO with a thoughtful birthday gift. It was a heartfelt token of our appreciation for her tireless efforts and leadership, which have made our company what it is today.
