Aqueos is a ‘World Class Subsea Service Provider’ offering a full range of services including Marine Construction, Commercial Diving, Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV), and Vessel contracting services. Aqueos’ core values are commitment to ‘excellence’ and dedication to an ‘accident-free’ workplace, which is what encouraged them to not just seek ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification, but to seek certification for the other important standards ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and OHSAS 18001 Safety Management System.
Aqueos selected Mireaux to assist them with their certifications after receiving impressive referrals from well-recognized diving companies that Mireaux had worked with. Mireaux evaluated the project and committed itself to helping Aqueos with the daunting task of helping their two locations, in Broussard, LA; and Ventura, CA, obtain the three certifications in less than a year.
As Mireaux and Aqueos begin the journey, projects were still running high and everyone was busy, however the Mireaux team made sure everyone stayed focus without losing momentum. Additionally, Aqueos decided to use Mireaux’s Web QMS software to ease the documentation and tracking demands of ISO, which made the work much easier. Finally, after months of diligent hard work, Mireaux’s ISO knowledge and renowned Web QMS combined with Aqueos’ tenacity (Excellence, Professionalism, and Safety) led Aqueos to achieve certification by DNV GL – one of the largest registrars in the world.
Mireaux’s CEO Miriam Boudreaux added, “This project was quite interesting and fun. While we were already familiar with the diving world having helped a few companies in the Gulf of Mexico, working towards 3 standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001) was a challenge on its own. The versions of the standards at that time did not align with each other, the way they do now after the 2015 revision, nevertheless, we made sure that the HSEQ Management System was integrated and effective for the company. We used various resources for this project including our Consultant Madhavi S., our Technical Writer Geno D., and our Web QMS Tech Support Jing Y. among other team members. Overall, we were happy with the teamwork and the results obtained, but hope things will be easier as the ISO standards now move to a common framework and the high level structure.”
Aqueos is not new to precision, hard work, and dedication; they have been recognized for their top-notch safety practices on more than one occasion. Achieving triple certification is not an easy feat, but Aqueos was determined and rose to the challenge.
