Management Solutions announced today that its client, Veolia ES Offshore Marine Division, has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification for the provision of offshore construction and subsea ROV operations, as well as project management and installation engineering. The certification includes the Houston location as well as its vessels Swordfish, Viking Poseidon, and Norman Pacific. ISO 9001, which specifies the requirements for implementing and maintaining a quality management system, is the most widely recognized international standard. As of 2011, over 1.1 million ISO 9001 certificates have been issued worldwide. Veolia’s certificate was conferred by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), one of the largest ISO Registrars in the world.
Veolia started its journey towards ISO 9001 certification in September 2012 after retaining our services. Mireaux was hired to assist in all aspects of its quality management system implementation and to provide its Web QMS software for managing its documentation and other requirements set forth by the standard. From the beginning, Mireaux worked diligently with Veolia ES OMD managers and employees using a methodical approach, ensuring that training, process mapping, procedure writing, corrective action, and all other requirements were addressed.
Veolia Celebration for ISOMiriam Boudreaux, President of Mireaux Management Solutions, commented on the project:
“With our ISO knowledge and extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, this project was right up our alley. However, every project has its own set of complexities, and Veolia ES OMD was no different. Our selection of team members for this project was critical, and we provided an experienced team of Technical Writers, Trainers, Programmers, and Consultants to ensure that the project stayed focused and remained on track.”
At a recent gathering to celebrate the official news, James Parker, General Manager of Veolia ES OMD, expressed his satisfaction with the achievement, and asked everyone to remain mindful of the work to come in continuing to adhere to the system. He stressed the staff to take care of open CIPs, alluding to Web QMS’ CIP application, which is the prime tool for continual improvement and the generation of corrective and preventive actions.
