The Essential Steps to Jumpstart your ISO/API Certification Journey!
These are the same steps our own Consultants use to successfully guide our clients to achieve ISO/API certification.
This intensive 1-Day API Q1 Essentials course introduces participants to the API Specification Q1 – Quality Management System Requirements for Manufacturing Organizations. Designed for Managers, Engineers, and other professionals who may not be Quality experts but who must understand and support API Q1 compliance, the course breaks down complex requirements into practical, easy-to-grasp concepts.
The course provides a structured overview of API Q1 Clauses 4, 5, and 6, covering topics such as:
Establishing and aligning quality objectives with business performance.
Defining responsibility, authority, and competence to ensure accountability.
Controlling key processes in contract review, design, risk management, purchasing, and product realization.
Managing nonconforming product, corrective actions, and continual improvement.
Implementing Management of Change (MOC) and preventive maintenance to reduce operational risks.
Participants will leave with an appreciation of not just the what of API Q1, but the why — why these requirements protect the organization, ensure compliance, and deliver customer confidence.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Explain the purpose of API Q1 and its relevance to manufacturing organizations.
Recognize how Clauses 4–6 requirements (objectives, resources, competence, design, purchasing, risk, product realization, etc.) apply to their daily roles.
Identify the risks of poor implementation and the benefits of supporting compliance.
Contribute to the organization’s QMS by understanding their responsibilities in supporting API Q1 requirements.
No prior Quality Management System knowledge is required — this course is designed for professionals in Operations, Engineering, or Management who need to understand API Q1 without becoming auditors.
