​​​The 1-Day Fundamentals of Root Cause Analysis training course provides participants with practical tools and techniques to identify, analyze, and eliminate underlying causes of problems, emphasizing hands-on learning through real-world case studies, group exercises, and application of problem-solving methods.

Participants will leave with the confidence to distinguish between symptoms & causes, select the right RCA tool for the situation, and design corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Problems that go unsolved—or solved only at the surface—cost organizations time, money, and reputation. This course equips attendees with the mindset, methods, and tools to tackle problems systematically and sustainably.

Through guided instruction, interactive workshops, and case studies from manufacturing, services, oil & gas, and office environments, participants will learn how to:

  • Distinguish between symptoms and causes.

  • Understand the benefits of solving the root causes of problems

  • Apply structured root cause analysis tools such as Brainstorming, the 5 Whys, the Fishbone Diagram, and Pareto Analysis.

  • Collect and organize information in order to improve analysis and investigation of problems to determine their true causes.

  • Embed a root cause analysis mindset in your company and the management system in place.

This course bridges theory and practice so that participants not only understand the tools but can apply them confidently in their workplace.
