Created by the American Petroleum Institute (API), the 3.5-Day API Q2 Practitioner course builds on the Fundamentals course and provides both a deep understanding and hands-on experience with the API Specification Q2, 2nd Edition: Quality Management System Requirements for Service Supply Organizations for the Petroleum and Natural Gas Industries.
This official API-developed course consists of:
2.5 Days of API Q2 Fundamentals training
1 Full Day of hands-on practice covering key areas of the standard
Participants benefit from both theoretical knowledge and practical application. The course emphasizes:
The foundation, background, and significance of API Q2
A detailed, clause-by-clause breakdown of the specification, including API’s interpretations and expectations for documentation, implementation, and record keeping
Practical exercises focused on critical elements such as Risk Assessment, Contingency Planning, Management of Change, and Service Quality Plans
Using “Think About It” scenarios and interactive workshops, this course ensures participants are better prepared to apply the standard effectively within their organizations.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Interpret and apply each clause of the standard

There are no formal prerequisites for this course.
For those new to management systems or API Q2, Mireaux recommends the following preparatory path:
Fundamentals of Document Control – to establish core understanding
