Description

Management system standards provide organizations with a structured framework to improve performance, ensure consistency, and meet customer and regulatory requirements.

This course focuses on building a foundational understanding of standards before diving into specific requirements. Participants will explore what standards are, how they are developed, and how they apply across industries. The course introduces both generic standards (such as ISO 9001) and industry-specific standards (such as API Q1 and API Q2).

Key concepts used across all management system standards are explained, including the process approach, PDCA cycle, and risk-based thinking. Participants will also be introduced to the seven Quality Management Principles and how they influence organizational performance.

A major focus of the course is the process approach, including how to identify core and support processes and develop a high-level process map. Participants will learn how this step serves as the foundation for building an effective management system.

This course is ideal for individuals who are new to API standards and want to understand the big picture before moving into detailed requirements or implementation.
