Description

Organizations serving the petroleum and natural gas industry need a quality management system that protects product conformity, meets customer and API requirements, and remains practical in daily operations. This course turns API Specification Q1, 10th Edition, into clear implementation decisions, responsibilities, controls, and evidence.

Participants work clause by clause to connect requirements with contract review, risk, design, purchasing, product realization, inspection and testing, change management, performance evaluation, corrective action, and management review.

Built on Mireaux’s proven experience implementing and auditing API quality management systems, this course covers:

  1. What API Specification Q1, 10th Edition requires
  2. How to implement the requirements practically
  3. How to audit and verify implementation and effectiveness

Realistic industry examples, Quick Sound Checks, Web QMS integration, audit guidance, and clause-based workshops help participants build a QMS that is practical, maintainable, and ready for certification.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the intent of API Specification Q1, 10th Edition, and how its requirements work together as a quality management system.
  • Translate API Q1 requirements into practical processes, responsibilities, controls, documented information, and records appropriate to the organization.
  • Apply risk-based thinking and effective product-realization controls to protect product conformity and customer requirements.
  • Evaluate QMS implementation and effectiveness using objective evidence, performance information, and an auditor’s perspective.
  • Recognize weak or incomplete controls, prioritize needed actions, and use corrective action, management of change, management review, and continual improvement to strengthen the QMS.
  • Apply the requirements through realistic petroleum and natural gas industry examples, workshops, and Web QMS workflows.

Prerequisites

This is an implementation-level course. Participants should have work experience in quality, operations, engineering, manufacturing, inspection, supply chain, or management, along with working familiarity with quality management system concepts.
