This course includes the full 2.5-day Fundamentals curriculum, plus an additional full day of hands-on application focused on key components of the standard.
The Practitioner course is ideal for professionals who not only need to understand the intent and structure of API Q1 but also want to practice implementing its most critical requirements.
The first 2.5 days follow the official API Fundamentals course, covering all clauses of the Q1 standard with interpretation from API’s perspective and guidance on documentation, implementation, and recordkeeping.
On Day 3, participants engage in deeper analysis and practical workshops focused on:
Risk assessment and risk management
Contingency planning
Change management
Process validation
Product quality plans
This extended training helps participants apply concepts to real-world situations and prepares them to take a more active role in QMS implementation and auditing efforts.
By the end of the course, participants will understand:
The background, intent, and objectives of API Specification Q1
Each clause of the Q1, 10th Edition standard, and how to interpret and apply them
The new requirements introduced in the 10th Edition, including:
Enhanced risk and change management
Contingency planning
Product quality planning
How to evaluate risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
How to handle changes that affect the quality management system
How to translate Q1 requirements into operational processes
There are no formal prerequisites for this course.
However, participants new to quality management systems or API standards are encouraged to take Mireaux’s Fundamentals of Document Control and ISO 9001:2015 Implementation or Internal Auditor courses to establish a strong foundation.
