About

Turn ISO 14001:2026 requirements into an environmental management system people can use. Through clear explanations, practical examples, case-study workshops, and implementation tools, participants learn to connect environmental context, aspects, compliance obligations, objectives, controls, performance evaluation, and corrective action. The result is a stronger EMS that supports compliance, manages environmental risk, and improves measurable environmental performance.

Description

ISO 14001 Implementation provides a practical, clause-by-clause path for establishing, maintaining, and improving an environmental management system aligned with ISO 14001:2026. Participants examine the updated focus on environmental conditions, climate change, biodiversity, resource efficiency, leadership, governance, life cycle thinking, and impacts across operations and the value chain.

Using GoValves case-study activities, workshops, Learning Checkpoints, and an Implementation Checklist, participants translate requirements into processes, responsibilities, documented information, operational controls, emergency preparedness, monitoring, compliance evaluation, internal audit, management review, and corrective action.

Built on Mireaux’s proven experience implementing and auditing management systems, this course covers:

  1. What the standard requires
  2. How to implement it practically
  3. How to audit it practically

Together, these three perspectives connect ISO 14001 requirements, implementation decisions, and the evidence used to evaluate EMS performance.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the structure, intent, and connected requirements of ISO 14001:2026.
  • Determine organizational context, relevant environmental conditions, interested parties, and EMS scope.
  • Evaluate environmental aspects and impacts using a life cycle perspective, and identify compliance obligations, risks, and opportunities.
  • Translate leadership, policy, roles, objectives, and planning of changes into practical EMS processes and responsibilities.
  • Establish support and operational controls for resources, competence, awareness, communication, documented information, and emergency preparedness.
  • Evaluate EMS performance through monitoring, measurement, compliance evaluation, internal audit, and management review.
  • Respond to nonconformities and use corrective action and continual improvement to strengthen environmental performance.

Prerequisites

No formal prerequisite is required. Familiarity with the organization’s operations, environmental responsibilities, or management system processes is helpful but not required.
